We had a bit of snow this winter. One morning in February, in the midst of snow flurries, I was on my way into town headed south on Mangum St. As I crossed the Downtown Loop I happened to look up and saw the Spire of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Snow was caught in the cracks of the spire. I was totally captivated by the sky, the movement the mass the power. In this painting I strive to capture that emotion of nature as this piece of metal and stone stand as a monument.
